Mandisa Banjwa

Regional Operations Lead – Western Cape

Ihold a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Cape Town and I am one module away from obtaining an Honour’s Degree focused in Development Studies from the University of South Africa.

My background is in the research and impact measurement space. I’ve worked on several in-depth evaluations focused on understanding the impact of developmental programmes in the health, education, community safety and enterprise development sectors. Some of the countries I have worked in, in addition to South Africa, include Mozambique, Kenya, Swaziland, Malawi, and Cameroon.

I have a deep passion for education, entrepreneurship and the empowerment of women and girls. Furthermore, I am passionate about overall sustainable development of Africa and our people. There truly is no place like Africa!

My wish for the future of SA is that we become a more united, tolerant and equal society. And I am optimistic that one day we will be.

My favourite thing is travelling. Life is travelling and experiencing various people, cultures and food

If I had an extra day. I would read a gripping non-fiction book with a glass of wine

The person I admire most is my older sister for an infinite number of reasons

The one place I would love to visit is Jamaica because of the beaches, the music and dancing, and of course, the Jamaican accent!
